Mike Judge

            Mike Judge was an academic and athletic standout , setting numerous school records before  his graduation  from the University of Georgia with a degree in Economics in 1987. While throwing the shot put, discus, and javelin for UGA from 1983-1987, he was named to the all SEC (Southeastern Conference) team in 1985, 86, and 87. 

Coach Judge has taken his enthusiasm and astute knowledge for the throwing track and field events into his very successful, groundbreaking training group called “Throw 1 Deep.??? Founded in 1999, it’s success is based on his knowledge of the sport’s fundamentals,  having gained his USATF Levels 1-5 certification and becoming a Level 1 and 2 national coaching education instructor. Presently, Judge teaches at the highest standard of knowledge in his track and field events. As a mentor, his motto is "To instill in each student-athlete how to win with pride, lose with grace, and train/compete with integrity." This is the epitome of the standard and philosophy that represents the objectives and operating philosophy of the True Champion company and group of coaches. 

For athletes and parents, Judge has the reputation of being the coach to work with to gain proper fundamentals, and attain the attitude that contributes to championship performance. Similarly, in True Champion, he presents a regimen that sequentially, in a periodic style of development, takes the athlete from pre-competition, to peaking in their championship season. He is the go _to person in American high school throws, having tutored over a hundred young people to athletic scholarships to numerous and prestigious schools throughout the nation. 

Coach Judge also serves as the Vice-President for Georgia Track and Field Federation in the area of sponsorship. His business acumen has accounted for Georgia Track and Field’s emergence as a leader in both event and learning development, having won numerous awards based on his ability to draw the support of the business community for sport education and development. 

Yearly, coaches and athletes travel long distances to attend his seminars and camps to learn the successful methodology he has created and developed. His throwers are known to peak when it counts, winning multiple regional, national, and international contests and representing the United States at the highest level of competition. 

Among the honors accorded Coach Judge, is the 2011 Georgia Coach of the Year, the 2013 National High School Coach of the Year, and the 2013 National Junior Pan American Coach of the Year. Over more than a decade of producing world-class teen throwers, his number of All Americans is reaching 200, including a dozen national high school records. Additionally, those receiving substantial athletic scholarships from the Throw 1 Deep Club are well over 100. His athletes, will take from the experience of his coaching, sterling fundamentals, attitudes, and motivations that last a lifetime.
